The performance of a coated floor in Shortlands is determined largely before the first coloured coat is applied. The floor is checked for moisture, weak laitance, contamination, cracking and remnants of earlier treatments, including mixed-age slabs, historic paint, moisture at wall edges and local levelling repairs.
